Rich Brooks,
a resident of Langhorne, PA, carves traditional fish decoys, carved and
weighted wooded fish that are used to lure fish in for spearing through
the ice. Rich began carving in the mid 1990s, inspired by his growing collection
of duck decoys. He quickly turned to fish carving, and has been competing
in shows since 1997.Rich has won over 200 awards in fish carving competitions,
including Best of Show at the Tuckerton Decoy Show in 1999, 2000, 2002,
2003 and 2005. In addition to competing in contests and demonstrating carving
at Tuckerton Seaport, Rich teaches fish decoy carving and has served as
a judge at the Great Lakes World Championship of Fish Decoys. Rich's decorative
carvings, working decoys, and lures are on display in Jay Parker's Decoy
