Round Trip Ferry
from Beach Haven

Enjoy a scenic one-hour tour across the Little Egg Harbor Bay. The Tuckerton Seaport / Beach Haven Water Ferry will operate from July 4th weekend and will run throughout the summer.

The Water Ferry is limited to 28 people per ride, guests must be over 2 years old. Anyone under the age of 12 is required to wear a Coast Guard Approved personal flotation device, which we provide. There is a possibility of getting wet while on board the LBI Water Ferry which includes the possibility of rain, the Ferry runs rain or shine and is subject to cancel rides due to inclement weather at the Captain’s discretion.
 

You may also bring your bicycle on board, but there is a limit of two (2) bicycles on the boat. Reserve a spot for your bike here.

Guests must be checked in at the dock 15 minutes prior to departure. After that time all seats will be released. There is no guarantee that late guests can be accommodated as the ferry runs on a strict schedule.

Hunting Shanty

Join award winning decoy carver and collector, Andrew Tonnesen, to explore local carvers past, present, and future by following a trail of birds throughout the exhibits. Guests will visit 5 locations and get their hands on history.

Tuesday, July 30th

Join James Allen to learn about harvesting clams in local waters while seeing these habitats from aboard the boat. Learn the different technique for opening clams and sample shellfish fresh from the bay!

Catptain’s House

Celebrate National Ice Cream Day by learning about the history of ice cream and its roots in New Jersey and beyond. 2 tour locations: first the ice cream parlor exhibit in the historic Captain’s House at Tuckerton Seaport and then meet the owner at Kohr’s in Parkertown. Guests will sample Victorian-inspired asparagus ice cream and Filipino heritage flavors.

Each guest will receive an Ice Cream Flight as well, their choice of 4 flavors! Learn about and earn your first stamp on the l Licked My Way Through NJ Summer Challenge! Guests will be supplied with Challenge Maps.

Guests will meet at the Captain’s House upon arrival to the Seaport.

Join President of the Atlantic Audubon Society, Josh Gant, to see Great Bay Blvd like you’ve never seen it before- from the water! Aboard our boat, Josh will point out where to spot brown pelicans, the night heron rookery, and three types of gulls.

Join New Jersey’s Troubadour, Valerie Vaughn, for a folk music concert out on the bay. Learn about the local places that have inspired her songs while abord our boat. Sing along to South Jersey classics including Merce Ridgeway’s, “It’s a Beautiful day…on the Barnegat Bay”

Hunting Shanty

Join Niki for this exciting workshop where students will complete a Shaker Cheese basket. This type of basket was traditionally lined with cheese cloth, filled with curds and whey, and when the time came to remove the cured curds from the basket, the cheese wheel would be a six sided shape. This basket is for intermediate or very patient beginners.

Join Master Carver Jode Hillman of Hillman decoys for an intensive two-day class: on Sunday October 6th and 13th.

Students will learn the methods and techniques needed to carve and paint a Long Tail Duck decoy. Choice of Hen or Drake variety.
